Harold R. Piatt 1931 -2012 Harold R. Piatt, a resident of Henryetta, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2012 in Henryetta at the age of 81. Harold was born on August 29, 1931 in Okarche, Oklahoma to Harry Raymond Piatt and Cleo Mary White Piatt. Harold grew up in the Kingfisher county area. He married the love of his life, Verba D. Beagle at Hopewell Baptist Church in Edmond, Oklahoma on December 29, 1952. They remained happily married for almost 60 years. Harold loved travelling with his wife and they traveled to almost every state in the United States. He loved to garden, work with his tools in the garage. But most especially, Harold loved the time he spent with all his family. Harold spent most of his adult life as a math teacher. He began teaching in Albuquerque, New Mexico. His first three years were spent in the Junior High School in Albuquerque. But most of his career was spent at Menzano High School in Albuquerque. Harold retired with 34 years of faithful service with the Albuquerque Public Schools system. Harold was a longtime member of the Hoffmantown Baptist Church in Albuquerque where he served as both the music director and youth director of the church. Harold is preceded in death by his mother and his father, and by one grandson, Michael Piatt. He is survived by his wife Verba Piatt of the home in Henryetta; by two sons, Daniel Piatt and wife Roxanne of Henryetta, and Randall Piatt and wife Judy of Baytown, Texas; a daughter, Sandra Radigan and husband Tom of Monument, Colorado; by 9 grandchildren, Michelle Logan, Hannah Henry and husband Gregg, Heather Abshire and husband Mike, Brooke Piatt, Kyndell Moncier and husband James, Kasey Jo Tardy and husband Evan, Joshua Radigan, and Taylor Radigan;by 9 great grandchildren, Kelci Henry, Caleb Henry, Leanne Logan, Isaiah Logan, Nathan Logan, Paige Abshire, Carson Abshire, Jonah Abshire, and Titus Piatt. Viewing and visitation will be held on Friday, December 7, from 6pm until 8pm. T A funeral service for Harold will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 2:00pm at the First Baptist Church in Dewar with Rev. Jack Vance officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service of Henryetta. Pallbearers will be Joshua Radigan, Gregg Henry, Mike Abshire, Evan Tardy, James Moncier, and Caleb Henry. Honorary pallbearers will be Isaiah Logan and Jerry Logan.
