H. M. "Mike" Pinkston, a lifelong resident of Henryetta passed away, Wednesday, December 28, 2011 in Henryetta at the age of 78. Mike was born August 10, 1933 in Henryetta to W. R. Pinkston and Violet (Lamb) Pinkston. Mike served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Myrna Jo Hill January 23, 1954 in Henryetta, Oklahoma. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and loved camping, short trips, fishing, hunting, gardening & woodworking. He is preceded in death by his parents, W.R. & Violet Pinkston, two brothers, William Robert Pinkston & Joe Pinkston, also by a sister, Patsy VanMeter. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Myrna Pinkston of the home; Three children, Candice Canada of Henryetta; Michael Pinkston & wife Connie of Henryetta; Roger Pinkston of Henryetta; Nine grandchildren Thirteen great-grandchildren One brother, Jerry Pinkston of Henryetta One sister, Wanda Pinkston formerly of Oklahoma City & currently of Henryetta Also a host of nieces, nephews, friends, & other relatives Pallbearers will be, Michael Pinkston, Roger Pinkston, Kyle Pinkston, Cole Pinkston, Brian Pinkston, & Allen Pinkston. Honorary pallbearers will be, Jerry Pinkston & Bud Boswell. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 31, 2011 at the First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Lowell Churchill, officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
