Mr. Harvey Nelson Busby, 90, a resident of Henryetta, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, January 23rd, 2022, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Mr. Busby was born May 14th, 1931, in Henryetta, Oklahoma to Lila Mae (Kreidler) and Rufus Busby.
Harvey is preceded in death by his loving wife Betty (Spangler) Busby, parents, brothers: Leonard H. Busby and Louis Busby, and paternal grandparents: Mary (Burleson) and Sam Houston Busby.
Harvey worked for the Douglas Aircraft Company in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He also worked on the 7th Wonder of the World, The Hoover Dam in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River. Harvey attended the University of Tulsa in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He became an Electrical, Mechanical, and Architectural Engineer. He had previously attended the Droughan Business College in Tulsa prior to them closing their doors. Harvey received a Ph.D. in Science, Engineering as well as Theology. He also belonged to the Drum and Bugle Corp of Henryetta in the 1950s and sang in the Acapella Choir. Harvey was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Tulsa Scottish Rite in Tulsa Oklahoma, the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of the Southern Jurisdiction of the United States of America, a member of the Bartlesville Blue Lodge and the Merrymakers of Wasano Shrine Club also in Bartlesville. Harvey had a heart of love for helping children. Harvey served in The United States Navy and worked for the Corp of Engineers. He also had a passion for flying a favorite being watching the Blue Angels perform
Those left to cherish his memory are daughters: Marilyn Busby of Henryetta, Oklahoma, Robin Rollins and husband Darrell of Lake St. Louis, Missouri, granddaughter Rachel Pelphrey of St. Louis, Missouri, great-grandson Jordan Pelphrey and great-granddaughter: Jayden Pelphrey, both of St. Louis Missouri
A Memorial Service is scheduled for 1:00 PM Monday, February 7th, 2022, at Integrity Funeral Service Chapel, 410 E Trudgeon, Henryetta, Oklahoma.
Officiating will be Reverend Noel Doherty of Tulsa, Oklahoma
Inurnment to follow at Westlawn Cemetery, 2302 W. Main St., Henryetta, Oklahoma.
