Hazel Mae (R) Parsley, a longtime resident of the Henryetta and Okmulgee area, died Sunday, October 25, 2009 in Henryetta at the age of 98. She was born March 31, 1911 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana to Walter Rabel and Dora (Brown) Rabel. Hazel married Clyde Larue Parsley in 1933 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
Hazel co-owned and operated The Golden Rule Shop in Okmulgee with her husband from 1963 - 1969. During World War II she worked as a riveter in California.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clyde Larue Parsley, one sister Esther Wakefield, and one brother, Chester Rabel.
She is survived by: 2 sons, Jim Parsley & wife Donna of Henryetta,
David Parsley & wife Sherry of Morris,
grandchildren, Stacey & Corey Arntfield of Morris,
Victoria Stites & husband Dale of Okmulgee,
Kimberly Karbowski & husband Keith of Morris
Karen Parsley of Glenpool,
Donna Riley & husband Ron of Iowa,
Joe McIntosh of Schulter,
Daniel McIntosh of Henryetta,
and Chuck McIntosh of Dewar
numerous great grandchildren,
and one sister, Peggy Sax of Sacramento, California
Funeral Services are scheduled for 3:00 PM, Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at the Apostolic House Of Prayer in Henryetta (502 East Trudgeon St)with Rev. Robert Yandell, officiating. Interment will be in Okmulgee Cemetery in Okmulgee under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
