Hepsy Harjo

Hepsey Harjo, a resident of Weleetka, passed away Monday, September 10, 2012 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 79. She was born October 17, 1932 in Coweta, OK to Alex Scott & Louisa (Canard). Hepsey was a member of Little Cussetah United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Alex Scott and Louisa Long, her husband, Billy Joe Harjo Sr., 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Hepsey is survived by 7 children, Billy Joe Harjo Jr. & wife Donna Kay of Sapulpa, Buford Harjo & wife Barbara of Bristow, Jacquelyn Buckley of Weleetka, Joanne Turner & husband Jerry of Okemah, Alice & Sam D. Marshall of Weleetka, Larry Harjo of Tulsa, Nelson Harjo & wife Georgia of Henryetta, 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, sister, Jeanette Harjo & husband Monroe of Shawnee, as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Michael Brian Harjo, Levi Harjo, Big Harjo, Kv-la-ne Marshall, Cho-bon Buckley, Rhino Buckley, Julian Harjo, Bub Harjo, and Seneca Smith. Honorary Pallbearers will be great grandsons, Jasanee Harjo, Kelvin Harjo, Jaice Bush, Ethan Marshall, Evan Marshall, Austin James Tristin Buckley, Tyler Lee, Samuel Buckley, Jonas Smith, and Isaac Landers. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Wednesday evening at Integrity Funeral Service. Wake services are scheduled for 6pm on Thursday, September 13 at Shurden Chapel (411 W. Division St.) Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00pm, Friday, September 14, 2012 at Little Cussetah United Methodist Church with Rev. Nelson Harjo, officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Weleetka. Services are under the direction and care of Integrity Funeral Service.
