Hubert Morris Hall

Buster Hall, a long time resident of the Wilson Community passed away Saturday, July 6th, 2013 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma at the age of 83. He was born to Harrison Hall and Carrie (Huff) Hall in the Hilltop community on Tiger Mountain August 5, 1929. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Riley Hall and Howard Hall, sisters, Irene Hall, Velma (Hall) Bowdler and Belva (Hall) Lavendusky. Also by two nieces, Colleen Duke and Carolyn Johnson, four nephews, James Bowdler, Julius Lavendusky, Darryl Lavendusky, and James Tarwater. A special son, Charles David Anderson. He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Catherine Ann Hall of the home; Son, Wade Hall of the Wilson Community; Son, Monty Hall and wife Linda of Choctaw, Oklahoma; Grandchildren, Jenna Hall and Jared Hall also of Choctaw, Oklahoma; One sister-in-law Dorothy Hall of Checotah, Oklahoma; As well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives. Buster served his country in the United States Army for four years during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Japan where he was trained as a heavy equipment operator. Shortly before his honorable discharge he married the love of his life, Catherine Ann Hubbs on March 15, 1952 in Henryetta, Oklahoma. Buster had many jobs throughout his life. He worked twenty-one years at the Eagle-Picher Smelter and also held jobs with Bill Miller Pipeline, and worked as a truck driver and oil field worker. He retired from Okmulgee County District #3 as road supervisor. While working the above mentioned jobs he also worked a second job as ranch supervisor for Dr. Haynes Ranch, Coburn Ranch, Roscoe Snell Ranch, Margie Coleman Ranch and The R.E. Wilson Ranch where he currently resided. His true gift was that of a horse trainer. People brought their horses for Buster to break from all parts of Oklahoma and other states. People were amazed at how Buster could take the wildest of horses and within weeks see a child riding them. In his younger years he could be seen many weekends with his cousin Raymond Brison roping, heading and heeling and steer wrestling at local rodeo arenas. He enjoyed the thrill of coon hunting, deer hunting and fishing. But the love of his life was his family, especially Jenna and Jared. Pallbearers will be, Jason Ramsey, Dustin Ramsey, Jarrod Duke, Steve McElhannon, Jim Guynes, & Larry Luellen. Honorary pallbearers will be, Jack McManus, Charlie Condren, Richard Craig, Bill Brown, Bill Dwiggins, Phi Voss, Carlton Dodge, Don Smith, Bobby Wilson, Vernon VanMeter & Don Tarwater. Viewing will be from 1-8 pm, Monday, July 8, 2013 at the funeral home with the family present to greet friends from 6-8 pm. A funeral services for Buster is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at the Abundant Life Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Suzie Stephens and Rev. Becky Watkins, officiating. Interment will follow in New Sonora Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
