Izora (Beaver) Carter, a resident of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, passed from this life on Sunday, July 9, 2017 in Tulsa at the age of 70. Izora was born on April 30, 1947 in Hanna, Oklahoma to Thomas Beaver and Abbie Cummings Beaver.
Izora grew up in Hanna and attended school at the Eufaula Boarding School from the first through seventh grade. She later moved back to Hanna and completed her education there. Izora spent most of her adult life working as an accomplished seamstress. She also loved beading and quilt making and enjoyed singing with the Creek Singers. Izora was a loving daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother and she will be missed by the many people who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father; a son, Ronnie Joe Davis; a sister, Juanita Kelly; a sister, Nancy Bruner; a sister, Joycetta Bark; and by her husband, Earl Carter.
She is survived by a son, Rufus Gould and wife Donna of Okemah, OK; a son, Boyd Cummings and wife Terry of Shawnee, OK; a daughter, Lisa Case and husband Robert of Littleton, CO; a daughter, Leslie Davis of Tulsa; a son, Bobby Goff of Tulsa; two sisters, Lonie Tapia and husband Arnoldo of Hanna and Kay Murray and husband Johnny of Hanna; by a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and many good friends.
Viewing for Izora will be held at Integrity Funeral Service in Henryetta on Wednesday, July 12 from 2:00pm until 5:00pm. A wake service for Izora will be held on Wednesday from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Integrity Chapel in Henryetta.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Weogufkee Indian Baptist Church in Hanna with Rev. J.R. Wisdom officiating. Interment will follow at Hanna Cemetery under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
Pallbearers will be B.J. Butler, Brent Butler, Cameron Fixico, William Fixico, and Allan Colbert.
