Death is a natural thing like the closing of a door, as we start upon a journey to a new and distant shore. So let your grief be softened and yield not to despair. Thomas, a proud husband, dad, brother, nephew, uncle and friend, has been placed in the loving Father's care. Life on earth is a transient affair, just a few brief years in which to prepare for a life that is free from pain and tears, where time is not counted in hours, minutes or years. It all began on October 13, 1958 in Holdenville, OK when Melvin E. Maxwell, Sr. and Gloreta M. Maxwell were blessed with a handsome baby boy. He was the 6th child of 10 born to this union. They named him, James Thomas and he would forever be called Thomas. He attended Dustin Elementary School, Dustin, OK and Graham High School, Weleetka, OK. He proudly married Ana Valentin on December 16, 2000 in Grayson, OK and they made their home in Schulter, OK. Their lifetime together was filled with love, respect and enjoyment above their dreams. Thomas worked various jobs as a young man, but working at Texaco in Okmulgee, OK was the one that he will be the most remembered. It gave Thomas the opportunity to meet many wonderful people. Thomas also worked for Steeltek, Tulsa, OK for 8 years before becoming ill. Thomas was an avid hunter & fisherman. He enjoyed gardening, caring for his bees, but most of all he loved the Lord, his family and enjoyed living life. He made his transition on January 22, 2011. He leaves to cherish his precious memory at the young age of 52: his wife, Ana Maxwell, Schulter, OK, 1 son; John Thomas Maxwell of Henryetta, OK, 5 sisters; Vilenna Shaddix and companion Ron Spears of Gore, OK, Paula Smith and husband Donnie of Dewar, OK, Coraine Maxwell of Twin Hills, OK and Billie Carson and husband Jackie of Henryetta, OK.
