James Edwin Shaw, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2023, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born on May 24, 1945, in Henryetta, Oklahoma, to Hayes Allen Shaw and Anabel (Knight) Shaw. James lived a fulfilling life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
James was the son of a longtime family from Henryetta. He attended Henryetta High School and graduated in the class of 1963, making lifelong friends along the way. His faith was nurtured in his hometown, where he was born and raised in the First United Methodist Church of Henryetta. His faith continued to guide him throughout his life, providing him a strong foundation of love and compassion.
After graduation, James embarked on his professional journey at the Ford Glass Company, where he dedicated many years of service. His work ethic, dedication, and commitment were admired by his colleagues, and his jovial nature made him a favorite among his peers. Upon his retirement, James left behind a legacy of hard work, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
Family was always at the heart of James' life. He was a loving father to his son Eric Shaw and his wife Jackie of Centerton, Arkansas, and his daughter Jamie Escobedo of Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was a doting grandfather to Joey and Jaxon Escobedo; Eric James Shaw, Jessica Shaw, Natasia Cranston, and Acacia Cranston. James also leaves behind his two brothers, Allen Shaw of Tulsa and John Shaw of Raytown, Missouri. Their bond was one of shared stories, laughter, and mutual respect. He also leaves behind a host of friends and other relatives who will miss his infectious laughter and warm, welcoming presence.
James had a love for life that was contagious. His interests were as varied as they were passionate. He had a particular love for water and cherished his time on any lake with his friends and family. These trips were not just about the water for James; they were about the camaraderie, the shared meals, the laughter, and the memories made. His love for these simple yet profound joys of life was evident in his radiant smile and the twinkle in his eyes.
James Edwin Shaw lived a life that was rich in experiences, love, and connections. Viewing for James will be from 4 to 8pm Thursday evening at Integrity Funeral Service.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 17th, 2023 at Integrity Funeral Service with Rev. Tom Shaw officiating and David Shaw assisting. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
