Jasper Gene Smith, a resident of rural Henryetta, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2009 in Tulsa at the age of 62. Jasper was born October 18, 1947 in Dustin, Oklahoma to Golden O. Smith and Lena May Smith. He was a veteran of the Viet-Nam conflict serving with the United States Navy. He worked as an aircraft mechanic for American Airlines. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, a 32nd Degree Mason, Shriner, Scottish Rite, & York Rite. Jasper is preceded in death by his father, Golden Odel Smith, his mother, Lena May Frair Smith, four brothers, Jessie Odel Smith, Clarence Edward Smith, Johnny Ray Smith, & Golden Arlie Smith. Also by one sister, Velma Morice Thomas. He is survived by his wife: Renee Evans-Smith of the home One son: Gregory Gene Smith & wife Tricia of Norman One daughter: Angela Smith of Dustin Two granddaughters: Chrystal Renee Smith of Norman Brittany Nicole Smith of Norman One great-grandson: Jordan Walker Hensley of Norman One brother: Charles T. Smith & wife Freda of Dustin Four sisters: Cora Ashton of Dustin Lizziebeth Looper of Lamar Wordna Martin & husband Earnest of Wichita, Kansas Maudine Johnson & husband Carrel of Eufaula Sister-in-law: Neoma Smith As well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives. Pallbearers will be: Edward Odell Smith, Paul Ray Smith, Daniel Ray Smith, Charles Dale Smith, Allen Dean Martin, & Richard Allen Martin. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Charles Trutt Smith, Kenneth Lynn Siems, & Doyle Wayne Vinson. Funeral services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 7, 2009 at the First Baptist Church, Dustin, Oklahoma with Rev. Randy Zann, officiating. Interment will follow at Hanna Cemetery, Hanna, Oklahoma under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
