J. D. Hill, Age 57 of Tulsa was born February 14, 1954 to Toney E. and Irene (Simmer) Hill in Okemah, Oklahoma. He attended Jones Academy in Hartshorne, OK and graduated from Butner in Cromwell, Ok. He attended OSU-Okmulgee. He was a Cabinet maker by trade. His favorite pastime was playing softball with teams such as the Red Thunder and Spirits. He also liked to shoot pool. J.D. was an avid OU fan as well as an Oakland Raiders fan. J.D. loved being surrounded by family and friends and was quite the jokester. Survivors include two daughters. Jo'Reta Hill and Anrise Hill both of Wetumka, and two sons James "Hob" Johnson of Lawton and Reuben Culley of Wetumka. His special friend Kay Christy of Tulsa, OK Also three sisters: Malley Hill of Okmulgee, Mary Christine Lindsey, of Okmulgee, Wanda Hill of Okemah. Two brothers: Stoney Hill, Billy Hill and Toby Hill all of Okemah and Dewey Hill of Lamar, OK. His 14 grandchildren. Two Aunts: Helen Coon of Sapulpa and Edith Harjo of Cromwell and one Uncle: John Pigeon of Okemah. As well as a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. His wife, Paula Hill. Two brothers: William Hill and Louie Hill. One sister: Emma Jones and Juanita Barnett. One grandson Reese Culley. Wake Service will be 7 pm, Thursday at Little Quassarte Indian Baptist Church near Cromwell, Okla. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 12, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Little Quassarte Indian Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Harjo officiating and Rev. Houston Tiger assisting. Interment will follow at Hill-Simmer Family Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
