Jesse Douglas Scott

Jesse Douglas "Doug" Scott, a resident of Henryetta, passed from this life on Friday, June 3, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 74. Doug was born at home on April 16, 1942 near Dustin, OK, Hughes County to Hubert Scott and Wynetta Freeman Scott. Doug is a 1960 graduate of Graham Public School. His employment consisted of driving a tractor/trailer unit hauling hay from Henryetta, OK area to San Antonio,Texas. In 1969 he married Shirley Berry and began employment with road construction business and during those years he lived in Hugo, Red Oak, and Pauls Valley, OK. He later moved to Okmulgee, OK when he was a heavy equipment operator for McMichael Construction out of Tulsa, OK. He later retired due to disability issues. In 1997 he married Elinor Evans Mann and they resided in Henryetta. Doug’s disabilities worsened the last 9 years and Elinor was his very faithful caregiver with help from some of their close friends. He is preceded in death by his father Hubert Scott and his mother Wynetta Freeman Scott. He is survived by his wife Elinor Scott of the home; and one sister Wynema Reeve and husband Jerry Reeve of Broken Arrow, OK. He is also survived by step children Monique Mann Sims of Alma, AR, Charles Mann of Detroit, MI and Casey Mann of Seattle, WA., as well as several step grandchildren. Viewing for Doug will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 from noon until 8:00pm at Integrity Funeral Service. A funeral service for Doug is scheduled for Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 2:00pm at First Baptist Church of Weleetka with Rev. Mike Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Fairview Cemetery in Dustin under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service of Henryetta. Pallbearers will be Richie Sims, Richard Sims, Charles Mann, Casey Mann, Liam Mann, Jerry Reeve, and Robert Lawrence.
