Jessie L. (Jerry) Nelson, a resident of Dewar was born May 31, 1929 in Henryetta, Oklahoma to Eugene & Esta Nelson. He passed away, Tuesday, May 11, 2010 in Dewar at the age of 80. He was retired as an engineer with Aerojet General Corporation. A veteran of Korean Conflict, Jessie served with the United States Navy. He married Deborah Tyler, August 8, 1995 in Hitchita. He was a member of House of Prayer in Okemah. He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Vonna & Tina, as well as two brothers, Kenneth Nelson & Roy Anderson. Pallbearers will be, Steve Nelson, Craig Nelson, Allen Anderson, Michael Chaffin, Glen West, & Lee Dobson. Honorary pallbearers will be, Earl Drake, Melvin Oliver, Junior Dodson, & Treman Smith. Jessie is survived by his wife, Deborah of the home 8 children: Steve Nelson, Anaheim, California Craig Nelson & wife Christy, Anaheim,California Sherry Nelson, New Mexico Michael Chaffin & Bryan Price, Tulsa Michelle Marinelli & husband Kenny, Tulsa Brandie Reynolds, Weleetka Lee Dobson & wife Charity, Henryetta Christie Smith & husband John, Bixby 12 Grandchildren 2 Great grandchildren 4 sisters, Sue Brown Osborn & husband Gordon, Henryetta Nita Stanley, Merced, California Jean Nelson, Lexington, Kentucky Carolyn Anderson, Stockton, California 1 brother, Allen Anderson & wife Gloria, Forrest, Mississippi As well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the House of Prayer Church, 301 S. 5th, Okemah, with Rev. Barney Gibson & Rev. Jack Mustin, officiating. Interment will follow in Salem Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
