Jimmie Lee Alston, Sr, a longtime resident of Henryetta passed this life July 23, 2016 in Henryetta at the age of 69. He was born June 14, 1947 in Henryetta, Oklahoma to Herman Alston and Oleta (Saunders) Alston. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed.
He married Patricia Holt December 3, 1965 in Henryetta, Oklahoma.
Jimmie worked for the United States Postal Service for thirty-three years before retiring in 2011. Upon retirement he enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, leathercraft and spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his father, Herman A. Alston.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Alston of the home;
His mother, Oleta Alston, a brother, Verdel Alston, two sons and a daughter, Jimmie Alston, Jr. & wife Ivey, Mike Alston & wife Wilma, Christine Key and husband Jody, nine grandchildren, and four great grandchildren, plus a host of other family and friends.
Viewing will begin on Tuesday from 5 - 8 pm, Wednesday 8 am- 8pm, Thursday from 8am until noon.
Pallbearers will be, Jimmie Black, Thomas Black, Cody Pruitt, Jody Key, Dalton Key & Larry Kennedy. Honorary pallbearers will be Rusty Kellogg, Cody Kellogg, & Lloyd R. Holt.
A funeral services is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 28, 2016 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Henryetta with Pastor Norman Wilkie, pastor of Spirit Filled Church in Tulsa officiating. Interment will follow in Salt Creek Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
