Jimmy Dale Herring,78, a resident of Henryetta, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, June 8th, 2023 at Porta Caeli Hospice House in Tulsa, Oklahoma after the heartbreak of losing Katherine, the love of his life, after sixty years in November 2022. and a courageous battle with cancer.
Jimmy was a man of faith who devoted his life to putting God first and hoping to influence many in a positive way during his teaching and coaching career. Jimmy was born July 29th, 1944 to Thelma (Edgar) and Charles T. Herring in Savanna, Oklahoma, who have both preceded him in death along wih his sisters, Mary Woolheater, Jewel Johnston and Patsy Davis
Jimmy attended all twelve years at Savanna Schools where he graduated. Jimmy was a competitive student and athlete. He served as Salutatorian of his 8th grade class and Valedictorian of his Senior Class. He was President of his class from 9th grade through 12th grade, and FFA President for 2 years. He loved and played all sports but football was his favorite. Jimmy soon met the love of his life, Katherine Sue Lame, before graduating in May of 1962. Jimmy and Katherine would marry August 3rd, 1962.
Jimmy then joined the United States Air Force in August where he became and Air Policeman for the next four years finishing his tour of duty in August 1966. Jimmy would continue his education at Southeastern of Durant for two years and would receive his Master's Degree in Administration at Northeastern at Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

Those left to cherish his memory are children, son, Steven Herring of the home, Andrea Herring of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Heather Herring and Kojak Cook of Miami, Oklahoma, brothers, Charles Herring, Edgar Herring, Bob Herring and one sister Betty Ray, pet boxer Maggie, of the home
and grandchildren, Kirsten Cooper, Dalton Cooper, Bre Herring and Landon Lawson.
Those serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be: Kim Brownfield, Kojak Cook and Bobby Tillman Herring.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for 10:00AM, Saturday, July 1st, 2023 at The Church of Christ, 413 W. Broadway, Henryetta, Oklahoma
