John Josie Sr., a resident of Henryetta passed away November 17, 2016 in Henryetta at the age of 55. He was born August 10, 1961 in Wetumka, Oklahoma to Jacob Josie and Leona (Jacobs) Josie. He was raised around the Ryal area and will be laid to rest with his parents, Jacob Josie and Leona (Jacobs) and a brother, Barney Jacob.
He is survived by his wife of over thirty years, Emma Josie of the home;
One son, John Josie, Jr., of the home;
Two step sons, Josiah and Jeremiah Proctor also of the home;
He is further survived by five brothers and one sister.
John loved to spend a lot of his time with friends and loved to go fishing with his step-son, Jeremiah. He loved to baby sit for his best friend Tristan and Tiff Demmitt and was given the nick name, Baby Whisperer by his best friend Tristan because of his love for kids. He always talked about going on the boat ride with Tristan & Jeremiah and always loved to go coon hunting.
He was a loving man and will really, really be missed by his family, his friends, and many others.
John will be taken to Hickory Ground #2 at 4:00 p.m., Monday, November 21, 2016 for a wake service at 7:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Adam Bear, Johnny Hicks, Chris Jacobs, Tristan Demmitt, Dwayne Chamberlain and Tom Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Norman McNac, Matt Chamberlain, Todd Chamberlain, James Morgan, Josiah Proctor and Elliott Proctor.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Hickory Ground #2 Church. Interment will follow in Jacob Family Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
