John Robert Marris

John Robert “Pat” Marris was born March 25, 1966 to Shelly Edgemon and Hubert Marris and died September 17, 2022 at the age of 56, at his home in Henryetta.


Pat’s early years were spent at Okmulgee Elementary. When his family moved, he attended Preston where he played mainly baseball. He graduated in 1984. He attended OSU then began his working career at Rainbow Bread. He moved for 15 years to South Carolina. He worked for US Engine Valve. When moving back home, he worked for Georgia pacific then finished at Imperium Utility Services. Throughout his traveling & jobs, he made many special friendships.


Pat loved the outdoors. Whether he was fishing, hunting, riding his Harley with his beloved second family or just admiring nature. He was a deep thinker. Loved long talks and wanted to experience all the adventures his mind could comprehend. He loved taking risk like skydiving. He tried his best to create all the memories his heart desired. He wanted his family to have those to hold onto. Anywhere he went, you would see him singing or dancing. He loved everyone. He was everyone’s favorite. He was everyone’s Rhinestone cowboy.


Pat was preceded in death by his son: Dalton Klein Marris, brother: Samuel Ray; grandparents: Willie Lewis, John & Lahoma Perryman, and Lester & Mae Marris, uncles: Coy Lewis, Danny Lewis, aunt: Dorene Perryman, and cousin: Sara Basquez.


He is survived by his mother & stepfather, Shelly & Steve Edgemon, father & stepmother, Hubert & Mary Marris, brother, Jeremy Marris, children; London Marris, Raegan Marris, Samuel Marris, and Patrick Marris, Desirae Marris, grandchildren; Chyla, Jace, Colton, Covey, Emmett, Poppy, Gabriel, Elisha, & Nehemiah, nieces; Tempestt, Disney, and Daily. Also by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.


Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 24, 2022 at the Apostolic Life Church 1512 East 13th Street in Okmulgee, Oklahoma with Rev. Steve Clark, officiating. Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
