Johnny Frye Sr., a resident of Del City, formerly of Henryetta, passed away Friday, December 27, 2013 in Midwest City, OK at the age of 72. He was born December 3, 1941 in Henryetta, OK to Harbie Frye Sr. & Hepsey (Walker) Frye. Johnny served the United States in the Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harbie Frye Sr. and Hepsey Frye, his paternal grandparents, Sam and Leechie Frye, one infant sister, one infant brother, Brother, Leroy Frye, and brother Robert Frye, and three grandchildren. Johnny is survived by his wife, Marion (Bunny) Frye of the home, daughter, Jennifer Frye-Parsons & husband Brian of Midwest City, son, Johnny Frye Jr. of Del City, daughter, Karianne Frye of Midwest City, daughter, Melanie Frye of Shawnee, three granddaughters, Jaycie Roberts, Anessa Switch, and Amaya Switch, two grandsons, Jacob Switch and Kameron Parsons, 7 brothers, Arthur Powell of Henryetta, George Thompson Jr. of Henryetta, Tim Thompson of Henryetta, William Frye of Henryetta, Harbie Frye Jr. of Guthrie, James Frye of Tulsa, and Samuel Frye of Henryetta, 6 sisters, Sally Thompson Nusbaum of Bristow, Mary Frye of Glenpool, Patricia Frye of Henryetta, Fannie Frye of Henryetta, Carol Frye of Dewar, and Freda Frye of Okmulgee, one uncle, Sam Frye of Henryetta, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Viewing will be from 5-8pm on Sunday, December 29 at Integrity Funeral Service (410 East Trudgeon St.) Wake services will be held on Monday at 7pm at Thewarle Indian Baptist Church near Dustin, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Thewarle Indian Baptist Church with Rev. Eugene Whitlow, officiating. Interment will follow at Harjo Family Cemetery near Salem, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
