Dewayne Hammack, a resident of Dewar, was born December 14, 1946 to Johnny and Margaret (Walker) Hammack. Dewayne passed away, Tuesday, September 14, 2010 in Tulsa at the age of 63. He was a graduate of Dewar High School class of 1965. Dewayne married Linda Davidson on August 29, 1969 in Avon Indiana. As well as his work with pipe-line, Dewayne received his Bachelor of Science degree and taught Geography, History, Drivers Education, as well as coached football, basketball, & baseball at Dewar Public Schools for 20 years. He is preceded in death by his father, Johnny Hammack and one brother, Guynn Hammack. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Linda Hammack of the home One daughter, Alexa Hammack of Moore, Oklahoma His mother, Margaret Hammack of Dewar One brother, Dennis Hammack & wife Lynn of Bardstown, Kentucky Sister-in-law, Ann Hammack of Tulsa As well as a host of friends and other relatives. Pallbearers will be, John Hammack, Michael Hammack, Jerl Hammack, Jeremy Burrow, Jared Ellis, & Roger Roth. Honorary pallbearers will be, James Smith, Bill Spurlock, Richard W. Pulliam, Jackie Weimer, Marshal Weese, Pat Wilson, Mike Chowins, Ted Chowins, W. J. Celestine, Gaston Hall, Rocky Trundel & Alex Delso. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Dewar First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
