Juanita (Field) Dunson, a longtime resident of Henryetta, passed from this life on Monday, March 4, 2013 in Okemah, Oklahoma at the age of 82. Juanita was born on September 15, 1930 in Henryetta, Oklahoma to Punskee Field and Louisa Watson Field. Juanita grew up in the Henryetta area, attending both St. Michael's School in Henryetta and Haskell Institute. She graduated at Bacone. Juanita was an active member in the WSCS, where she served that organization as conference president. She also served on the National Board of Global Ministries. She was an avid shopper and loved to travel. She also loved camping and was a rock and shell collector. One of her favorite pastimes was taking pictures and socializing with friends and family. Juanita was married to Eugene Dunson on December 15,1948 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. From that union, she was blessed with 3 daughters, 3 sons, and two foster sons. Juanita is preceded in death by her mother and father; 3 brothers, and one sister, Lucille Hicks. She is survived by 3 daughters, Wanda Chapo and husband Thomas of Tecumseh, Susan Bear of Oklahoma City, and Linda Irene of Stanley, New Mexico; three sons, David Dunson and wife Lynn of Wetumka, Marty Dunson of Henryetta, and Daryl Dunson of Phoenix, AZ; two foster sons, Pete Riley and wife Glenda of Sand Springs and Richard Hicks and wife Rubeen of Sapulpa, OK; 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and numerous other extended family and many good friends. Viewing and visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 5pm until 8pm. and on Thursday from 8am until 3pm. A wake service for Juanita will be held at Thlopthlocco United Methodist Church on Thursday, March 7 at 7:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 8, 2013 at 2:00pm at Thlopthlocco United Methodist Church, with Rev. Billie Nowabbi officiating. Interment will follow the funeral at Thlopthlocco Cemetery under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service of Henryetta. Pallbearers will be Thomas Dunson, Daryl Dunson, Jr., John Bear, Brad Lowe, Brent Watson, and Neal Rosanoff. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Jones, Matt Dunson, Marvin Thurmond, Tom Chapo, Randall Watson, Rex Watson, and Terry Linsey.
