Kathryn Elizabeth Cortassa

June 24, 1916 — April 4, 2014

Kathryn Elizabeth (Ferrero) Cortassa, a lifelong resident of Henryetta, was born on June 24, 1916 in Spelter City, Oklahoma to Anna Penna Ferrero and Joe Ferrero. She passed away peacefully on Friday, April 4, 2014 in Oklahoma City at the age of 97. Kathryn was married to James Cortassa in Henryetta, Oklahoma on October 12, 1935. She was a homemaker, and a loving mother, and remained active in her church and alter society throughout her life. For the last seven years, she lived in Del City, Oklahoma at Wellington Park Assisted Living Center. She had many friends there and she participated in most all activities there while she resided there. Kathryn was a life-long member St. Michael Catholic Church and remained so until her death. She was preceded in death by her husband James; both her mother and father; two sisters, Mary Sahlica and Lena Ferrero; and two brothers, Joe Ferrero and Ernest Ferrero. Kathryn is survived by two daughters, Jean Allee of Midwest City and Brenda Lindsay and husband Glenn of Norman; one grandson, Dr. Mark Allee of Oklahoma City; 2 great grandsons, Jake Allee and Sam Allee of Oklahoma City; a sister-in-law, Wanda Ferrero of Henryetta; a very special friend, Edward Martens of Midwest City; a host of nieces and nephews; a devoted church family and many good friends. Viewing will be held on Monday, April 7, 2014 at Integrity Funeral Service of Henryetta from 2:00pm until 8:00pm. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 10:00am at St. Michael Catholic Church in Henryetta with Fr. Peter Phung officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service. Pallbearers will be Lewis Kelch, Sam Kelch, Albert Kelch, Glenn Lindsay, Ed Martens, and John Donati.
