Katie Nicole Powless

April 3, 1990 — April 2, 2022

Katie Nicole Powless was born in Oklahoma City on April 3, 1990 to Rodney Mark Powless and Lisa Jo Porter. As a teenager Katie played softball and attended NW Classen High School where she created many friendships that would continue throughout her adult life. Katie was known to be a great friend and loved spending time with her friends and family. Later, Katie became a wonderful mother to four beautiful children. Her children were priority in her life and she loved them very much and did her very best to tend to their needs and always put them first. She then began her career at the Oklahoma City Indian Clinic where she was known for her hard work and reliable work ethic. Katie was a resilient indigenous woman and a member of the Mvskoke Nation and a descendant of the Iroquois First Nation and also a strong follower in the MMIW movement. She held pride in her Native American culture. In her free time she enjoyed gardening and doing many projects with her hands, there wasn't anything she couldn't figure out how to fix. Katie was always helpful to friends and family and has left that loving trait with all of her children.

Katie was a bright spirit and always fun to have around she will be greatly missed and always remembered by her infectious smile and the imprint she left behind on everyone she met.

Katie is preceded in death by grandparents, Charles Martin Powless and Geneva Gambler Powless and Del Dean Porter and Hazel Porter, Mother, Lisa Jo Porter her uncles, Nathaniel "Squeaky" Powless and Quanah "Sonny" Powless and children's father Troy Dale Noisey.
