Landon Eugene Jefferson, Sr., a resident of Dewar, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2011 in Tulsa at the age of 75. He was born July 17, 1936 in Hoffman, Oklahoma to Manual and Bertha Jefferson. He married Nadean Burdick December 2, 1969 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. He served with the Oklahoma Army National Guard and was retired from Okmulgee Public Schools as a bus driver. Mr. Jefferson is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Mark Jefferson, 3 sisters, Garnie Ritter, Oneta Adamo, & Nellie Higley. Also by 2 brothers, John Jefferson & Jack Jefferson and a grandson, Timothy Jefferson. He is survived by his wife Nadean Jefferson of the home 1 son: Landon Eugene Jefferson, Jr. and wife Karen of Dewar 1 daughter: Elizabeth Ann Meek & husband Dewayne Henryetta 2 grandchildren: Whitney & Ashley Jefferson of Dewar 1 great grandson: Maddix Lucero of Dewar 1 sister: Earnie Cleaver of Henryetta Also survived by several step children & step grandchildren and a host of friends. Pallbearers will be, Carol Ritter, Warren Brinker, Ronnell Lewis, Mike McCarroll, Mark McCarroll, & Bub McCarroll. Honorary pallbearers will be, Gerald Stewart, Johnny Lee Donald Lee Harlan Lee, & Curt Britt. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 29, 2011 at the Dewar Freewill Holiness Church with Rev. Duke Britt, officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
