Larry Richard (Guynes) Guynes

June 3, 1943 — January 25, 2018

Larry Richard Guynes, a resident of Scranton, Arkansas passed away Thursday, January 25th, 2018 in Little Rock, Arkansas at the age of 74. He was born June 3, 1943 in Woodland, California to Theodore Wesley Guynes and Betty Juanita (Dodd) Fast.

He married Deborah Lee (Green) Lindley May 22, 1998 in Fort Smith, AR.

Larry is a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps earning several medals including the Vietnam Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. After being honorably discharged from the Marines, Larry felt that he wanted to serve his country again and enlisted in the United States Air Force where he was an aviation mechanic and served as a Master Sergeant earning numerous additional medals. Larry was a very patriotic American and was very proud of his time served in the United States Military. He was most proud of his contribution to the Skunk Works Project during his time with the Air Force having worked on a number of famous aircraft designs, including the U-2, SR-71 Blackbird, and B-117 Nighthawk. After retirement, being the patriot that he was, Larry proudly served as Quartermaster for the local VFW Post 8383 in New Blaine, Arkansas.

He is preceded in death by his parents; step-mom Ruby M (Blake) Guynes; grandparents Bill and Fanny Guynes; and brothers Theodore Wesley Guynes Jr and Donald Ray Guynes.

He is survived by his wife Deborah of the home;
sons Christopher Guynes of Henryetta, OK,
Michael Guynes of El Paso, TX;
daughters Jodi Mallen and husband Kevin of Loma Rica, CA,
LaRae Russell and husband Robert of Henryetta, OK,
Memory Loveless and husband Victor of Broken Arrow, OK,
Billie Pangle and husband Kenny of Henryetta, OK;
brothers Mike Guynes of Okmulgee, OK and Jimmy Guynes of Henryetta, OK;
sister Brenda Putman and husband Don of Henryetta, OK;
16 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other extended family and many good friends.

Viewing for Larry will be from 5-8pm Monday at Integrity Funeral Service, and 8am until noon on Tuesday. Viewing will also be at the service.

Services for Larry are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 29th, 2017 at Integrity Chapel with Rev. Curt Russell officiating. Services are under direction Integrity Funeral Service.
