Laurena May Umsted

Laurena May Umsted, a resident of Henryetta passed away Wednesday, July 2nd, 2014 in Henryetta at the age of 82. She was born February 23, 1932 to James Brinkley and Edna (Mills) Brinkley. Mrs. Umsted lived for many years in Erick, Oklahoma before moving to Henryetta. She was an accomplished seamstress and sewed for many as well as a devoted mother and homemaker. She is also a member of the Silver Spring Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Sidney M. "Marvin" Umsted of Henryetta; Five children: Margaret Thompson & husband Sonny of Dewar; James Umsted & wife Stephanie of Wheeler, Texas; Billy Umsted & wife Shelia of Mobeetie, Texas; Debbie Hendrix of Erick, Oklahoma; Gene Umsted & wife Sherry of Delhi, Oklahoma; Sixteen Grandchildren; Thirty one Great Grandchildren; Four Great Great Grandchildren; One brother, Wayne Brinkley & wife Kathy; As well as a host of friends and other relatives. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Silver Spring Baptist Church with Rev. A. J. Tiger, officiating. Interment will be at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, July 5, 2014 in Erick Cemetery, Erick, Oklahoma under direction of Integrity Funeral Service. Condolences may be sent at www.integrityfuneralservice.com
