Lee Roy Jones, a resident of Hitchita passed away Sunday, December 31st, 2017 in Muskogee at the age of 78. He was born June 23, 1939 in Hitchita, Oklahoma to Lee Anderson Jones and Hazel (Lee) Jones. He married Nila Jean Collins September 30, 1966 in Jenks, Oklahoma.
Lee was a veteran serving with the United States Army. He worked for many years as a design draftsman. He attended the New Hope Community Church in Hitchita. Lee was an avid outdoorsman where he loved hunt and most of all fish. Fishing was a passion with Lee. He was very active in playing music for various groups playing the guitar and harmonica. He was very active playing at the Music Barn in Hitchita.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Nila Jean Jones of the home;
One brother, James Pete Jones & wife Dianne of Nuyaka;
A nephew, Tommy Jones & wife Diane of California;
A great nephew, Dylan Jones of Okmulgee;
Also by a host of friends and other relatives.
Viewing for Lee will be from 5-8pm Wednesday, 8-8pm Thursday, and 8am-noon on Friday.
Pallbearers will be Billy Crabtree, Johnny Crabtree, Kenny Hager, & Clay Collins.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 5, 2018 at Integrity Chapel with Rev. Ryan Wells officiating. Interment will follow in Lackey Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
