Lena Mae "Pigeon" Proctor was born February 26th 1932 to Jakeman Pigeon and Sabena "Bean" Pigeon. Lena departed this walks of life peacefully on Monday February 10th, 2025 at the age of 92.
Lena was born and grew up in Hanna, Ok. She was a full-time Mother and Homemaker. Lena was baptized at a young age and belonged to Weogufkee Baptist Church, she also attended Many Springs Mission while she resided in Oklahoma City. Lena belonged to Eufaulagee Ceremonial Grounds, then later became a member of Greenleaf Ceremonial Ground in 1988 where she and her children made camp. Lena enjoyed attending her grandchildren and great grandchildrens activities, working crossword and word search puzzles and playing Bingo. Lena loved to watch any Western movies, especially if it had John Wayne in them. She also liked karate movies staring Chuck Norris or Bolo. Lena also had a love for cats, she leaves behind her gray cat whom she called Baby.
Lena had a heart full of love and wisdom she covered her family with. She loved to have family gatherings, speaking the Muscogee Creek language to anyone who could speak it with her. She loved hearing Muscogee Creek Hymns and enjoyed sewing quilts until her hands would not allow her to. Lena is a Full Blood Muscogee Creek Citizen and belonged to the Bear Clan.
Lena is preceded in death by her parents Jakeman and Sabena, 3 brothers and 3 sisters, Infant Son Alex Proctor, Son Lumber "Degar" Proctor, Father of her children Charlie Proctor, one son-in-law Solomon "Rusty" Walters and one daughter-in-law Minnie Proctor.
Those left to cherish her Memories are her children whom she called her Bear Cubs: Bill Proctor of Dewar, Lizzie and Harold Haynes of Holdenville, Rhoda Proctor of Dustin, Charles Proctor of Henryetta, Jonas and Theresa Proctor of Dustin, Emma Proctor Miller and Alvin of Henryetta, Eva Proctor of Dustin, Tina Proctor of the home and daughter-in-law Lydia Proctor of Holdenville. Her precious 31 Grandchildren, 89 Great Grandchildren and 40 Great, Great Grandchildren. As well as special nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Lena will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her Love and Prayers will cover her family until we meet again.
Serving as Pallbearers: Byron Proctor, Alex Proctor, Joseph Proctor, Josiah Proctor, Charles Proctor Jr, Justin Holden, Alec Proctor and Nathaniel Proctor.
Honorary Pallbearers: Brian Proctor, Bruce Proctor, Paul Pigeon, Vince Tilley, L.J. Proctor, Dakota Proctor, Tobias Proctor, Alex Proctor Jr, Jeremiah Proctor and Johnna Goodman.
Lena will be laid to rest at the Pigeon/Proctor Family Cemetery next to her son.
Services Officiated by Reverend Mitchell Taylor.
Viewing will be from 11 AM - 4 PM on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Integrity Funeral Service. Visitation will begin at 6 PM at the Dustin Community Center in Dustin, Oklahoma that same evening.
Funeral Services are Scheduled for 1:00 PM, Friday, February 14, 2025 at Integrity Chapel. Services are under the care and direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
