Linda Jan Mcnew

Linda Jan McNew passed away on January 12, 2024 in Skiatook, Ok at the age of 79. She was born on February 28, 1944 to Grace Elizabeth (Smith) and Walter "Bud" Jefferson Briscoe in Okmulgee, Ok.


She graduated from Okmulgee High School and attended Oklahoma State Technical Institute. She worked at PPG in Henryetta and Tulsa Fordge. She worked at Alliance Wall/ Polyvision in Okmulgee until her retirement.


After retiring, she enjoyed staying at home. She loved reading true crime novels and talking to her sisters on the phone. She was always happy to visit with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.


Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Grace Briscoe, husband Charles McNew, daughter Tracy Briscoe, brother Bill Briscoe, and sister JoAnn Briscoe. She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Stephenson and husband Steve, of Skiatook; son Tim McNew and wife Rachel, of Okmulgee; grandchildren, Steven Stephenson of Skiatook; Tori Meijer of Bartlesville; Brandon Stephenson of Muldrow; Kyle McNew of Okmulgee; Joshua Stewart McNew of Okmulgee; and Omri McNew of Okmulgee; and great grandchildren, Leannah Stephenson of Surprise, AZ; and Ember Meijer of Bartlesville. She is also survived by her sisters, Judy Roberts of Whitesboro, TX; and Jennifer McKay and husband Stan, of Tulsa, OK.


No visitation is scheduled. Graveside service is scheduled for 3:00 pm Thursday at Okmulgee Cemetery in Okmulgee, OK.


Those serving as pallbearers will be: Kyle McNew, Stewart McNew, Omri McNew, Steve Stephenson, Tori Meijer and Brandon Stephenson.
