Louise Fish

Louise Fish, a resident of Dustin passed away March 20, 2013 in Ada, Oklahoma at the age of 82. She was born June 21st, 1930 to Buddy Harjo, Sr. and Hattie (Brown) Harjo. Louise grew up in Graham and attended Graham School. In addition to her work in her home she worked in the peanut and cotton fields, at the sewing factory in Okemah as well as custodian at Dustin Public School. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, word puzzles and liked to play pool. She is preceded in death by her parents, Buddy & Hattie Harjo, one son Billy Gene Harjo, one daughter, Barbara Sue Fish, five brothers, Buddy Harjo, Jr., Wilson Harjo, Muriel Harjo, Albert Harjo & an infant brother, Benjamin Harjo; four sisters, Mildred Fields, Peggy Carder, Myrtle Barnett, Lucy Burgess, also by two infant sisters, and one grandson, Dale Mahan. She is survived by two daughters: Betty Mahan of Dustin; Marie Smith & husband Larry of Lamar; One brother, Benny Harjo of Weleetka; One sister, Margaret Gann of Glenpool; Seven grandchildren, Brandi Smith of Lamar; Larry Smith, Jr. of Stillwater; Darrell Mahan of Dustin; Debra Mahan of Dustin; Jeremy Mahan of Dustin; Cheryl Najera of Henryetta; & Christy Pugh of Alabama; Thirteen great grandchildren, Eric Mahan, Lauren Mahan, Michael Mahan, Christopher Johnson, Mickey Randall, Jr., Shelly Meeks, Keith Mahan, Kelsey Mahan, Brooklyn Mahan, Kyra Najera, Kenna Najera, Presley Ledbetter, & Jordan. Also by a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives. Viewing will be from 9 am until 5 pm on Saturday, March 23 at Shurden Funeral Home, 411 W. Division St., Henryetta. Following visitation a Wake Service will be conducted from 6 pm until 8 pm in Shurden Chapel. There will be no viewing or visitation on Sunday. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 25, 2013 in Shurden Chapel with Rev. Mark Smith and Rev. Benny Harjo officiating. Interment will follow in Wiley-Watson Cemetery near Dustin. Services are under direction of Integrity Funeral Service. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Dover, Jackie Evans, Wesley Harjo, Muriel Harjo, Jr., Bing Gann, Bobby Harjo and Johnny (Chubby) Harjo.
