Lucille Hammack, a longtime resident of Dewar passed away Wednesday, August 24th, 2016 in Tulsa at the age of 90. She was born May 27, 1926 in Tackerman, Arkansas to Troy Jones and Beulah (Rose) Jones.
After graduating from High School in Yellville, Arkansas, she moved to Oklahoma and was employed at Spartan's Aircraft as Rosie the Riveter during World War II.
She married Samuel Guy Hammack December 30, 1946 in Yellville, Arkansas. She and guy were married for 57 years and were longtime residents of Dewar, Oklahoma.
She retired from Dewar Public Schools as a cafeteria cook and was known as "The Bread Lady".
Lucille is preceded in death by her husband Guy Hammack, one brother, LeeRoy Jones, two sisters, Ruby Ply & Ginger Mason.
She is survived by her children, Beverly McIntosh & husband Rev. Ledtkey McIntosh of Norman, Oklahoma;
Lance Hammack of Dewar;
Diane Hester & husband Larry of Dewar;
Terri Stiver of Dewar;
Ten grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren & 1 great-great grandchild;
Four brothers, Lloyd Jones of Rogers, Arkansas;
Vernon Jones of Baton Rouge, Louisiana;
Lyle Jones of Yakima, Washington;
Carl Jones of Yellville, Arkansas;
Two sisters, Mae Clark of Morris;
Guyla Hudson of Grand Junction, Colorado;
As well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
Viewing for Lucille will be on Friday from Noon until 8:00 p.m., and on Saturday from 8:00 a.m., until 11:00 a.m.
Pallbearers will be: Ron McIntosh, Jared Ellis, Jesse Stiver, Laramie Keim, Hercel Hickman, and Haddon McIntosh. Honorary pallbearers will be, Dennis Hammack, Gary Clark, Philip Clark, James Mason, Jim Mason, Jason Harjo, Jonathan Greer, Kyle English, & Otis Adler.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Dewar First Baptist Church with Rev. Matthew McIntosh, Rev. Travis McIntosh, & Rev. Jack Vance officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery under direction and care of Integrity Funeral Service.
