Luther Dale Strickland

Luther Dale Strickland, a resident of rural Henryetta, Oklahoma, passed from this life on March 8, 2015 in Henryetta at the age of 72. Dale was born on March 29, 1942 in Lamar, Oklahoma to Ervin Strickland and Ethel Sanders. He attended school in Lamar and later in Moss, where he graduated from high school. Following high school, Dale joined the U.S. Army and served for two years before his honorable discharge. He returned to Henryetta where he worked for Estol Shurden as a farm laborer and where he provided personal care. Dale later accepted a position with the City of Henryetta Parks Department and was responsible for park maintenance around Nichols Park and Henryetta Lake. Dale is survived by his sister, Lilly Frair of Henryetta; a half-sister, Mary Lou Guest of Enid, OK; a half-brother, David Durham of Oklahoma; 7 children and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and many good friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Integrity Funeral Service of Henryetta.
