Marjorie Louise Penequine, a longtime Henryetta area resident, passed away Saturday evening, October 15, 2011 in Henryetta at the age of 82. Marjorie was born on December 10, 1928 in Sharp, Oklahoma to Roy Crandell and Ruby Hayden Crandell. Marjorie grew up in the rural Henryetta area and attended Wilson School. She worked at P&K Coal Mining for approximately 20 years as an office manager. She married Homer Penequine on January 21, 1978 and remained married until his death in 2010. She and Homer loved square dancing together and the two developed quite a passion for dancing together. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Henryetta. She is preceded in death by both her mother and father; her husband, Homer; a brother, Leroy Crandell; and a sister, Ann Crandell. Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Marjorie Rae Lowe of Henryetta; a step-son, Leslie Penequine of Henryetta; an ex-son in law, Roy L. Rogers of Henryetta; a granddaughter, Sara Wilson and husband Mike of Clarksville, Tennessee; a grandson, Matt Rogers of Henryetta; two step-grandchildren, Deborah Penequine Arnold and husband Paul of Tulsa and Cheri Penequine Herzberger of Broken Arrow; 2 brothers, Everett Crandell and wife Betty of Henryetta and Tommy Crandell of Henryetta; a sister, Mary Palmer and husband Paul of Florida; 10 Great Grandchildren and 5 Step Grandchildren; and many good friends. Viewing and visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from noon to 8pm, on Thursday from 8am to 8pm; and on Friday morning from 8am to noon. A private graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, October 21, 2011 at Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta with Rev. Ralph S. Wangler officiating. Burial will follow immediately under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service of Henryetta.
