Mark Allen Mooney, a resident of Dewar, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, at the age of 59.
Born on November 16, 1965, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Mark was the son of Bobby Gene Mooney and Peggy Jeanette (Gordon) Mooney. He was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Mooney, and his grandparents: Clifford Gordon, Ruth Gordon, Robert Mooney, and Ruth Mooney.
Mark honorably served in the United States Air Force from 1986 to 1991, demonstrating a strong commitment to his country.
After his military service, Mark dedicated his career to law enforcement. He served as a police officer in Tulsa County, worked with the Okmulgee County Sheriff's Department, and was a member of the Muscogee Nation Lighthorse Police until 2004.
Mark had a deep appreciation for the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, camping with his family, and watching classic Westerns and television shows.
Mark is survived by his wife, Genny Mooney; his sons, Riley Mooney and Jacob Mooney; and his daughter, Aubrey Mooney. He is also survived by his father, Bob Mooney; his siblings, Greg Mooney, Pam Crow, and Krista Mooney-Shea; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, aunts, in-laws, and a host of friends.
A viewing for friends and family will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Integrity Chapel. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
Mark's dedication to his family, community, and country will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
