Mary Beth "Penny" Kafer, a resident of Jenks, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, January 16, 2011 in Henryetta at the age of 59. She was born May 26, 1951 in Henryetta to John East and Mary (Williams) East.
Penny attended St. Michael Catholic School and then Henryetta High School graduating in 1969. She attended Oklahoma State University for one year and graduated from East Central University with a bachelor degree in education.
Penny along with her sister Jane, owned and operated Candy Land Preschool which was also Henryetta's first pre-school. Currently Penny worked as a special education teacher with Glenpool Public Schools.
She is survived by her husband James Lonnie (Jimmy) Kafer of the home in Jenks

A Rosary is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., Thursday, January, 20, 2011 at St. Michael Catholic Church.
Pallbearers will be John Michael Kafer, Donald Frank Kafer, J. R. Oaks, Jason Cunningham, Ben Cunningham and Jeremy Dowdy. Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Johnson, Drew Cunningham, Dan Fritz and John Gaudet.
A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 21, 2011 at St. Michael Catholic Church with Fr. Peter Phung, officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
