Shurden Funeral Home 411 West Division Street Henryetta, OK 74437 (918) 652-4461 Fax (918) 652-4451 Mary Ann Gray, a resident of Okmulgee, passed from this life on Friday, December 7, 2012 in Okmulgee at the age of 76. Mary was born on June 2, 1936 in Spelter City, Oklahoma to Howard Counterman and Mildred Stubbs Counterman. Mary grew up in Henryetta and attended Henryetta Public Schools. Mary spent most of her adult life working as a waitress, cook and restaurant owner. She owned the Longhorn Cafe in Henryetta for several years before retiring. She was also a longtime member of the Pentecostal Church. She was especially proud and known for her service in the Foster parent program, where she served as a foster parent for numerous children over the years. Mary is preceded in death by her mother and father; two daughters, Sunnie June Williams and Diana Sue Williams; a son, J.Q. Williams; and four brothers, Howard Counterman, Johnny Counterman, Billy Counterman, and Bobby Counterman. She is survived by three sons, Lloyd Tanner Williams of Beggs, Howard Williams and wife Kris of Haskell, and Herman Williams and wife Kris of San Antonio, Texas; by 1 daughter, Maggie Williams of Beggs; by 24 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 4 great, great grandchildren; her step-daughters, JoAnn Caldwell and husband Jason of Inola, and Judy Benefield and husband Jerry of Broken Arrow; her long-time friend and companion, Oscar Gray of Mounds; a brother, Larry Counterman of Henryetta; and by a host of extended family and many good friends. Viewing and visitation will be held at Shurden Funeral Home on Sunday, December 9, 2012 from 4pm to 8pm. Funeral Services for Mary will be held on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 2:00pm in the Chapel at Shurden Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Herman V. Williams, II officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of Shurden Funeral Home of Henryetta. Pallbearers will be B.J. Boak, Roger Williams, Shawn Powell, Cody Fulton, Ryan Angelo, and Ben Shelton. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Williams, Steve Williams, Nicomas Williams, Herman Williams, Howard Williams, and Larry Counterman.
