Mary Swatsenbarg, a resident of Okmulgee passed away Monday, June 16, 2014 in Okmulgee at the age of 71. She was born March 21, 1943 in Bakersfield, California to Edward Ellis Head & Betsy Miller Head. Mary retired as Deputy Sheriff with Tulsa County Sheriffs Department in January of 1993. She was the first female in the role of Deputy Sheriff, opening the way for all other female positions with Tulsa County Sheriffs office. She has been a resident of Okmulgee since 1978 and attended several Okmulgee area churches including The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints in Henryetta, as well as Crosstown Pentecostal Holiness Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward & Betsy Head, her husband Finis Russell Swatsenbarg, a brother, Garland "Dusty" Head, and a daughter Rustina Dawn Adams. She is survived by five children: James Edward Swatsenbarg of the home; Sandra Lamkin & husband Tom of Carthage, Missouri; Mary Davis & husband Ty of Okmulgee; Jessica High & husband John Vernon of Stone Bluff, Oklahoma; Vickey Bazhaw & husband David of Tulsa; Several Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren including Mary Adams, Tyler Adams, & Hannah Adams of the home. Viewing will be on Thursday, June 19, 2014 from Noon until 8pm at Integrity Funeral Service. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 20, 2014 at Integrity Chapel with Rev.
