Maurice George "Bob" Goodman was born September 25, 1936 in Lincoln, Nebraska. He entered into rest April 13, 2010 at Veteran's Administration Hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma at the age of 73. Bob graduated from Haleyville High School class of 1955. He joined the Navy in 1955 and served 20 years. He worked at the Army Ammunition plant in McAlester for 20 years. He served on Dewar City Council for 12 and one half years, and also worked as a reserve police officer for Dewar, Henryetta and Okmulgee County. He managed a roller skate rink and taught his daughter skating, starting at the age of 4. He loved and enjoyed his hobbies, hunting and skating. He was preceded in death by his parents Laura & Harry Goodman. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Jean Goodman of the home, A daughter, Gerry Ann Zunzia and husband Vincent of San Diego, California, Granddaughter, Hilary Julian of Henryetta, Step Daughter, Tammy Nixon & husband Terry of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Step Granddaughter, Tesha Um and husband Gregg, Stillwater, Oklahoma, Step Grandson Trey Nixon of Stillwater, Two great grandson's, Noah & Elijah Um of Stillwater, Brother-in-law, Billy Goodman of Dewar, Sister-in-law, Alice Winton & husband David of Jenks, Aunt, Mary Hedrick of Henryetta, Cousin, Lou Sams of Henryetta, His special dog, "Lady", As well as a host of friends and other relatives Pallbearers will be: David Winton, Trey Nixon, Richard Larney, Jimmy Goodman, Gregg Um, & Ray Moreno. Honorary Pallbearers will be from the Dewar Police Department, Henryetta Police Department, Okmulgee County Sherriff & Deputies as well as Benny Gooden, & Terry Nixon. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Dewar First Baptist Church, with Rev. Jack Vance, officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
