Maxine Miller, 89, of Hitchita, Oklahoma, went to be with her Lord on Friday, June 14, 2019, surrounded by her family.
Maxine was married to William “Bill” Leroy Miller for 42 years. Maxine was born in Kenwood, Oklahoma, and graduated from Bryant High School. She was a resident of Hitchita, Oklahoma since 1970. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. Maxine was the daughter of Schrilda (Bales) Crawford and Charles E. Crawford.
Maxine loved caring and cooking for her husband and family. As “Nan,” she cared for four generations. Nan welcomed family and guests into her home with strong hugs, wisdom, laughter, generosity, kindness, and the best meals. Nan was a virtuous woman, clothed in strength and dignity. Nan enjoyed supporting her grandchildren at events, attending church, and watching NBA basketball.
Maxine, the loving mother of Brenda Lynn (Roger) Williams, Gail King, and Billy (Brenda) Miller was also “Nan” to Terry Jimboy, Brent Williams, Kari Ponds, Jodie Murrell, Brandon (Whitney) Miller, and Blake Miller. Nan’s great-grandchildren included Tadd Hendrickson, Ty Hendrickson, Riley Williams, Adisyn Williams, Rangler Williams, Ray (Kylie) Stovall, Karrington White, Brooklyn Ponds, Starshon (Zachary) Hutto, and Michael Simmons. Nan’s great, great grandchildren include Scottlon Hendrickson and Sasha McGee.
Maxine is preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Leroy Miller, mother Schrilda Crawford, father Charles E. Crawford, brothers Paul Crawford and Leon Crawford, and sisters Stella Holt, Agnes Davis, Zella “Tootsie” Crawford, Birdie “Noon” Burns, Phylis Murry, and Betty Jo Goodwin.
Maxine’s family will celebrate her life during a viewing at Integrity Funeral Home Services in Henryetta, Oklahoma from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 17, 2019.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at the Hitchita Lackey Cemetery by officiant Jerry Carson.
Pallbearers include Maxine’s grandsons Terry JimBoy, Brent Williams, Brandon Miller, Blake Miller, and great-grandsons Michael Simmons and Zachary Hutto.
Maxine’s family sends a special thanks to the Saint Francis Health System and Saint Francis Hospice for their kindness.
