Michael Ray "Mike" Cummings, a resident of Henryetta, passed away Wednesday, October 09, 2013 at his home in rural Henryetta, OK at the age of 67. He was born March 22, 1946 in Henryetta, OK to Robert Dennis Cummings & Elizabeth (Merciez) Cummings.

Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, Robert “Bob” & Elizabeth Cummings, and brother, Jimmie Don Cummings.

Mike was born in Henryetta and graduated Schulter Schools. He attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater until getting married & making his family in Henryetta. He had a career at the Henryetta Post Office as assistant Post Master for over 25yrs until he retired and spent some time living in Arizona and traveling. He returned to his roots with his mother in Pleasant Valley to enjoy family, friends, fishing, cooking, baking, golf, gardening, and OSU football. He was a very kind hearted and quick witted man and always trying to make somebody smile. He never met a stranger and enjoyed reminiscing of his childhood as well as bragging on his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed time with his loved ones every day and made the most of the day. He was very organized man and loved unconditionally making sure he saw his “girls “ at least 3 times weekly just to say Hi or I love you. Mike was a unique soul and will be missed by many rest in peace until we all meet again.

Mike is survived by his three children, Dayna Benedict & husband Steve of Hoffman,
Jennifer Clason & husband Gary of Henryetta,
and Robert Cummings of Dallas, Texas,
grandchildren, Cody Benedict & Fiance’ Tiffany of Henryetta,
Kyle Clason & wife Megan of Henryetta,
Brok Clason & wife Amber of Henryetta,
2 great grandchildren, Brooklynne Shay Clason and
Richard Kyle Clason Jr. of Henryetta,
two sisters, Pat Byrd & husband Carl of Dewar,
and Mary Byrd of the home
2 nephews, 3 nieces, 3 great nieces, and 6 great nephews,
as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 10:00 AM, at Integrity Chapel (410 East Trudgeon St.). A dinner for family and friends will follow at Fountain View Manor activity building 1st & Madison. Burial will be a private immediate family memorial in Okmulgee at 3pm.
