Mildred Doris Vaughn

Mildred Doris Vaughn, a longtime Henryetta area resident, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 in Okmulgee at the age of 80. Mildred was born on April 5, 1934 in Lost Corner, Arkansas to William Washington Lee and Dessie Huffman Lee. Mildred lived in Arkansas for several years before her family moved to Oklahoma. She attended Hilltop School near Henryetta. She remained in the Henryetta area for the remainder of her life. On December 6, 1949 Milkdred married the love of her life, Junior Ray Vaughn in Henryetta. They remained happily married for 65 years. Mildred was an avid reader and loved working puzzles. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, and by four brothers and three sisters. Mildred is survived by her husband Junior Vaughn of the home; her daughter, Bertha L Vaughn of Henryetta; a brother, Jay Lee of Spur, Texas; several nieces and nephews; other extended family and many good friends. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at a later time. Arrangements are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service of Henryetta.
