Mona Diane (Pollard) Tarkington

Mona Diane Pollard Tarkington, a resident of rural Henryetta (Dewar) passed away Sunday, December 20th, 2020 at the age of 61. She was born December 3rd, 1959 in Okmulgee to Bobby G. Britt and Velma (Brison) Britt.

She was a graduate of Dewar High School Class of 1978 and was a dedicated, lifetime member of the Dewar United Pentecostal Church.

Mona was well known for her cooking skills, which included manager of Dewar School Cafeteria for many years. She also owned and operated Mona's Rose of Sharron Restaurant in Henryetta. She worked as a cook for many church functions, camp meetings, youth camps and other church events.

She retired this year from Dewar Public Schools. She is preceded in death by her mother, Velma Britt, her first husband, Paul Pollard, her second husband Rick Tarkington, Otis Pollard, Christine Pollard, Bill & Evelyn Brown and Vinson Tarkington.

She is survived by her children, Christy Jeffcoat & husband Jonathan of Henryetta;
Danielle Helm of Dewar; Ricky Tarkington & wife Lori, Jeff Tarkington & wife Brandi, Jentry Bain & husband Kerry, Daniel Tarkington & wife Jamie, Jordan Tarkington & wife Janie;
Her father, Bob Britt of Dewar;
Her grandchildren, Trystan Jeffcoat, Chrystan Jeffcoat, Michael Helm, Gabriel Helm, Haley & Dylan Terry, Hanna & Jacob Looney, Noah Tarkington, Anthony Tarkington, Luke & Katie Tarkington, Kyle, Matthew, Brandon & Jacob Pye, Raylynn & Hallory Tarkington;

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 23rd, 2020 at Dewar United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Matthew Martin officiating. Interment will follow in New Sonora Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
