Monroe Lasley, a resident of Kansas City, Missouri, formerly of Hanna, Oklahoma passed away Monday, March 09, 2015 in Kansas City, MO at the age of 73. He was born October 3, 1941 in Hanna, OK to Gilbert Lasley & Senora (Simmons) Lasley. Monroe was a Veteran serving in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War receiving a Bronze Star among other medals, he was a member of the Weogufkee Indian Baptist Church in Hanna, was employed by Filtronetics as a welder retiring in 2004. He was also a past Vice-President of the Haskell Alumni and was the Haskell Alumni Fundraiser Coordinator. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Youman Lasley, sister, Mattie Lasley Thomas, brother, Jimmy Lasley, sister, Rose Lasley Kelly, niece, Elizabeth Thomas, and by nephew, John Al Thomas. Monroe is survived by his wife Louina Lasley of the home, son, Milton Lee Lasley, and son, Rodman Jimmie Lasley & wife Andrea, son, Jeremiah Lasley & wife Amy, grandson, Gabriel Lasley, granddaughter, Zoey Lasley, stepson, Nathan Toney, 4 step grandchildren, and 5 step great grandchildren, sister-in-law Delores Lasley, as well as multiple nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Chebon Lasley, Rod Lasley Jeremiah Lasley, Richard Proctor, Darryl Proctor, Wolfie Phillips. Honorary Pallbearers will be Milton Lasley, Randy Colbert and Gabe Lasley. A wake service will be held at Integrity Chapel (410 East Trudgeon St.) in Henryetta on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 6:00 PM. A funeral service is scheduled for Friday, March 13, 2015 at 1:00PM at Weogufkee Indian Baptist Church in Hanna, Oklahoma with Rev. Jimmy Anderson and Rev. Ernest Best, officiating. Interment will follow at Weogufkee Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service in Henryetta.
