Norma June Armstrong

Norma June "Grannie" Armstrong, a resident of Okmulgee, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016 in Okmulgee, OK at the age of 91. She was born June 22, 1924 in Hanna, OK to John Benjamin Harris & Lillie Mae (Horn) Harris. She was a past member of the Eastern Star. Grannie loved flowers and gardening, she planted pansies the day before her passing. She came for a visit to Oklahoma in 1965 and never left. She worked for various flower shops in Okmulgee for many years until her daughter Angie opened Floral Sense in Henryetta in 1994, where they worked together until they both retired in 2010. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clyde Armstrong, daughter Norma Penny Vaughn, one sister, Bonnie & husband Norman, 6 brothers, Glenn Harris & wife Jo, John Harris and wife Annie, Len Harris & wife Ethel, Oland Harris & wife Katherine, Howard Harris & wife Pauline, and Jack Harris & wife Edna, and her son-in-law, Gary Stephens. Grannie is survived by her daughter, Angie Stephens of Okmulgee, four grandchildren Ty Davis & wife Mary of Okmulgee, David Davis & wife Lynne of Okmulgee, Stacy Hare & husband Freddie of Slaton, Texas, and Jonathan Piwonka of Slaton, Texas, great grandchildren, Tyson Davis of Okmulgee, Kyle Hare & wife Jessica of Slaton, Heather Ellingsworth & husband Kelvin of Slaton, Katy Piwonka, Jacob Piwonka, Andy Piwonka, and Sarah Piwonka, great-great grandchildren, Gavin Ellingsworth, Scarlette Ellingsworth, and one on the way, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Viewing will be from 5-8pm on Thursday, April 21 and from 8am-8pm Friday, April 22 at Integrity Funeral Service. Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Integrity Chapel (410 East Trudgeon St.) in Henryetta. Interment will follow at Morris Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
