Norma Jean Durbin Akins Crummett, a longtime resident of Dewar passed away Tuesday, April 25th, 2023 at her home in Dewar at the age of 89. She was born December 31st, 1933 in Dewar to Bert Douglas Durbin and Minnie Thelma (Liles) Durbin. She attended and graduated from Dewar High School. She was a faithful member of Dewar United Pentecostal Church.
She married Donald Eugene Akins June 8th, 1951 in Dewar. The had four daughters, Kathy (Akins) Clark, Donna (Akins) Campbell, Brenda (Akins) Williams, and Debi (Akins) Lowry.
She was employed by Dr. Hubbard's office where she worked for nine years, then worked at Okmulgee Memorial Hospital until she went to work at Ball Glass Company where she met her second husband Allen Ray Crummett. They were married April 9th, 1988 in Okmulgee.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Brenda Williams and Donna Campbell, brothers, Harlin Durbin, William Durbin and Buddy Ray Durbin.
Throughout her life, Norma loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by daughters, Kathy Clark of Kennwick, Washington and Debi Lowry and husband Dan of Dewar. Nine grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, also by a sister, Marie Durbin of Dewar, and one brother Bert Durbin & wife Nancy of Rogers, Arkansas.
Viewing for Norma will be from 4 - 8 p.m., Thursday and 8 a.m., until noon on Friday at Integrity Funeral Service.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 28th, 2023 at Dewar United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Matthew Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
