OBITUARY: OPAL ANN (GREEN) EMBERSON Opal Ann (Green) Emberson, former Henryetta resident, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2013 in Hot Springs, AR at the age of 89. She was born May 22, 1924 in Hulbert, Oklahoma to Arch Northcut Green & Julia Ann (Robinson) Green. Opal worked for many years as an LPN in the Henryetta hospital. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Henryetta where she spent much of her time doing volunteer work. Opal was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin James Emberson in 1979, her parents, Arch and Julia Ann Green, daughter, Marilyn Cates, daughter, Betty Ann Hervy, grandson, Brady Stepp, 2 brothers, James Carl Green and Harry Abraham Green, and by one great-great grandson, Nicolas Cates Opal is survived by her daughter, Linda McMichael & husband Terry of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, son, Melvin James "Jim" Emberson & wife Margaret of Huntington, Arkansas, sister, Leona Mitchell of Checotah, sister Mary Wilkerson of Bakersfield, California, son-in-law, Wesley Cates of Haskell, Oklahoma, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be her grandson, Chuck Cates, and great grandsons, Quentin Gist, Luke Melton, Ryan Melton, Michael Emberson, and James Ray Cates. Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons. Visitation will began at 2pm on Wednesday and the family will greet friends from 5:30 - 8:00 pm at Integrity Funeral Service. A funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, November 21, 2013 at 10:00 am, at the Church of Christ in Henryetta with Rex Walcher, officiating. Interment will follow at Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
