Patricia Ann (Sparks) Maple

January 29, 1937 — April 20, 2021

Patricia Ann (“Pat”) Maple was born on January 29, 1937, to Haskell and Bertie Sparks in Hitchita, Oklahoma. Pat was one of five children. She graduated from Hitchita High School in 1955. After graduation she attended Connors State College in Warner and Northeastern State University in Tahlequah where she earned a degree in education.
On June 21, 1959, Pat married the love of her life Paul Maple. They moved to Missouri where Paul was a principal and Pat was a teacher for about thirty years. Paul and Pat had two boys, Aaron and Clint, whom Pat adored. Pat moved back to Oklahoma after losing Paul to ALS in 1990.
After caring for aging parents, Pat spent her retirement enjoying her grandchildren and being in charge. She was active in church activities and volunteered at Sand Springs Community Services for several years. After moving to Greentree Assisted Living, she became the Ambassador and greeted all the new residents and tried to get them involved in activities. No matter what hat she wore, she loved giving orders to everyone. She lovingly became known as the Queen and when she moved to Beehive, she was called the Queen Bee. They even rolled out the red carpet for the Queen Bee when she moved into the facility. To say she was spoiled might be an understatement. The only thing she loved more than being in charge was spending time with her kids and grandkids. She was an amazing mom and meme, and as all grandparents do, she thought her kids and grandkids were the best and could do no wrong. In addition to being a wonderful mom and meme, she was a great friend and adored by many.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband Paul Maple; parents Haskell and Bertie Sparks; and siblings Charles Sparks, Jim Sparks and infant baby girl Sparks. Pat is survived by son Aaron Maple and wife Monica of Mannford, Oklahoma; son Clint Maple and wife Lara of Odessa, Missouri; brother Marvin Sparks and wife Sue of Ralston, Oklahoma; grandson Carson Maple of Mannford, Oklahoma; grandson Blake Maple of Mannford, Oklahoma; grandson Alec Maple of Odessa, Missouri; granddaughter Allison Maple of Odessa, Missouri; grandson Jordon Maple of Tulsa, Oklahoma; great grandchildren Riley Maple, Hadley Maple, Rowon Maple and Harrison Maple of Tulsa, Oklahoma and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
