Pricilla Lawaunna Emerson

Pricilla "Lawaunna" (Stephens) Emerson, a resident of McAlester, Oklahoma passed away August 16, 2024 in McAlester, Oklahoma at the age of 83. She was born on February 22, 1941 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Lewis Stephens & Ola (Harris) McComb.

Lawaunna grew up near Chickasha Oklahoma and attended schools at Ninnekah until the 11th grade and moved to Checotah and graduated from Checotah High School. She then went on to attend Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma where she received her Bachelor's and Master's degree in education. She taught school for several different school districts throughout her career and retired from Chickasha Public Schools after over 30 years of teaching. She enjoyed the simple things in life and enjoyed fishing, painting, pottery, setting on the porch drinking coffee and watching the sun rise. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She will be missed by all that had the privilege of knowing her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Stacy Emerson, sister, Regeanna Carnes, granddaughter, Ashton Emerson and a great great granddaughter, Marlie Green.

Lawaunna is survived by her sons, Noel Emerson and wife Saundra of Atoka, Oklahoma and Steve Emerson and wife Dannielle of Checotah, Oklahoma; brothers, Jimmy Stephens of Ardmore, Oklahoma and Charles Stephens; grandchildren, Kristin Corbin and husband Donnie, Micah Emerson and wife Summer, Garret Singer and wife Tori, Tashina Green and husband Russell, Nathan Emerson and wife Tasha, Nehemiah Emerson and wife Courtney, Rachel Emerson and Jamie Robinson, Renee Emerson and Javier Quin'onez, Roberta Bumpers and husband Keith, Michele Shields and husband Marcus, Todd Griffith and wife Lisa, Jeanna Manseau and husband Cory, and Janet Green and husband Josh. Also by numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Services for Lawaunna will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 19, 2024 at Integrity Funeral Chapel, 410 East Trudgeon Street, Henryetta, Oklahoma with Reverend Nukus Bear officiating. Burial will follow the service at Greenlawn Cemetery in Checotah, Oklahoma.

Serving as pallbearers will be Micah Emerson, Nehemiah Emerson, Nevin Corbin, Naea Corbin, Garret Singer and Jimmy Stephens. Honorary pallbearers will be Noah Emerson, Bane Emerson, Nolan Emerson, Jackson Green, Nathan Emerson and Barrett Emerson.
