Ramona Paulette "Sister" Butler was born June 21, 1961 in Wetumka, Oklahoma to Roman Paul Butler and Juanita Ruth Beaver Kelly. She passed away early Thursday morning, June 17, 2010 in Okmulgee at the age of 48 years, 11 months and 27 days. She grew up in Tulsa and also attended school at Eufaula Boarding School. Ramona worked for approximately 10 years for Burgraff Restoration Services in Tulsa, OK. Ramona was an accomplished cook and loved any time she spent with her family and friends. Ramona is survived by her mother, Juanita Kelly of Okmulgee; 2 daughters, Rayna Thornton and husband Jonas of Okmulgee and Amy Moore and husband Cody of Tulsa; 2 sons, Cory Butler and wife Kyndra of Tulsa and Dakota Marshall of Ponca City; 8 grandchildren, Jonna, Cristopher, Brionna, Jonas Jr., Ramona, Chitto, Justin and Cory Jr.; 4 brothers, Roger Butler and wife Marina of Bowlegs, Ronald Butler and wife Shirley of Coweta, Randall Butler of Okmulgee, and Janssen Butler and wife Mimi of Tulsa; 2 sisters, Ruth Day and husband Paul of Ponca City and Carolyn Noriega of Tulsa; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, and many good friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Roman "Cooksey" Butler; her paternal grandparents, Andrew "Pampa" Butler and Ella Builet; and her paternal grandparents, Abbie Lesta Cummings and Thom Beaver. Pallbearers will be Mario Jimeniz, Robert Ybarro, Richard Marries, Jason Perry, Archie Simpson, Cody Moore, Paul Day, and Andy Butler. Honorary pallbearers will be Cory Butler, Dakota Marshall, Ramona's 11 nephews and her 4 brothers. Viewing and visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday night from 6 to 8pm and on Friday from 8am to 3pm. A wake service will be held on Friday, June 17, 2010 at 6pm at the Hanna Indian Community Center, 2-1/2 miles east of Hanna Cemetery. Funeral services for Ramona will be held on Saturday at 2:00pm at the Hanna Indian Community Center with Rev. Joe Bruner officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Hanna Cemetery under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service of Henryetta.
