Richard Carl Williams a lifetime resident of the Bartlett-Dewar area, died Saturday, October 17, 2009 in Muskogee at the age of 77. Richard was born April 27, 1932 in Dighton, Oklahoma to Floyd and Gladys Williams. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving as Gunners Mate 3rd Class with the United States Navy. He married Ruby Jewell Sullivan, November 30, 1952 in Henryetta. He worked for many years in the lumber retail business. He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd & Gladys Williams, a brother, Roy Williams and several aunts and uncles. He is survived by: His wife Ruby of the home Daughter, Jerri Lynn Mathis & husband Ron of Okmulgee Son, Steve Williams of Tulsa 3 grandchildren, Christy Johnson & husband Darin of Tiger Mountain Jennifer Newton & husband Jacob of Harrah Kevin Mathis of Bristow 1 great grandson, Blake Johnson of Tiger Mountain 2 great grandaughters, Hannah and Abbey Newton, both of Harrah Sister-in-law, Peggy Williams of Henryetta As well as a host of friends and other relatives Pallbearers will be, Kevin Mathis, Darin Johnson, Blake Johnson, Jacob Newton, Robert Kilgore, Steven Williams, & Ron Mathis Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at the Dewar First Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Vance, officiating. Interment will follow at New Sonora Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
