Riley Donald "Don" Shipman, a resident of Eufaula, passed away September 19, 2019 in Muskogee, OK at the age of 70.He was one of fourteen children ,he was born Thursday, March 31, 1949 in Hanford, CA to Riley D. Shipman & Gertrude (Proe) Shipman.
Don graduated from Eufaula High School in 1968. He was a Veteran of the US coast Guard having served active duty from 1970-1974 and then the reserves from 1974-1978. During his time of service he received numerous award and recognitions including; The National Defense Medal, Expert Pistol Medal, and the First Coast Guard Good Conduct Award. He received his Associate's Degree in Law Enforcement, and spent several years as a Sheriff in McIntosh County. He later earned a living as a Welder, and a Welding Inspector. He loved to play his guitar and harmonica, and would play for anyone who would listen. He was a trivia buff, and if he had his way he would have been born 100 years earlier so that he could have been a cowboy in the Wild West. Don was a member of the Eufaula VFW, and participated in a multitude of charitable events benefiting Veterans, cancer survivors and cancer research.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Jonathan Shipman, as well as numerous brothers and sisters.

Isabella Rodriquez of Forney, Texas,
Gabriella Rodriguez of Forney, Texas,
Jude Rodriguez of Forney Texas,
and Landyn Shipman of Ben Wheeler, Texas,
grand-grandchildren; Jonathan Lamay of Onterio, Canada,
Garret Lamay of Fort Riley, Kansas,
and Rylie Heffington of Athens, Texas,
sister, June Rush of Eufaula, Oklahoma,
brother, Charles Shipman of Prescott, Arizona,
sister, Betty McGuire of Muskogee, Oklahoma,
sister Nita Smoot of Sachse, Texas,
and sister, Shirley Fowler of Morris, Oklahoma,
as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be from 4pm - 8pm on Friday, September 27, 2019 at Integrity Funeral Service in Henryetta.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 9:30 AM at Lenna Baptist Church in Lenna, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Lenna Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
